Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shafie Mohamed Zabri

Shafie is currently on secondment to the Ministry of Higher Education as the Director of Education Malaysia London. He oversees the internalisation activities between higher education institutions in Malaysia with higher education institutions in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the European region. In addition, Education Malaysia London also oversees the development and wellbeing of Malaysianstudents in UK, Ireland and Europe, as well as the governance of Education Malaysiaoffices in London, Belfast and Dublin.

Shafie started his academic career as a Tutor at the School of Finance and Banking, Universiti Utara Malaysia. Upon completion of his Master’s degree in 2003, he was appointed as Lecturer at the Faculty of Finance and Banking, Universiti Utara Malaysia. Prior to his secondment to the Ministry of Higher Education in October 2018, Shafie was an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Management at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia in which he joined since 2007, during which he was appointed as the Head of Department, Deputy Dean (Academic and International) and Deputy Director of Innovation and Commercialisation Centre.

He completed his PhD in Business (with Management) from University of Plymouth, United Kingdom in 2013. He received a degree in Business Administration from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2000 and a Master in Business Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2003.
